Ronald Raskind, President

Ronald Raskind was born January 29,1955 in the Boston area and has lived and done business here throughout his lifetime. He graduated Randolph High School in 1973, spend two years at Penn State, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Univ. of Mass. Amherst in 1977 with a degree in Biology. Subsequently, he spent one year at the Univ. of Mass. Medical School in Worcester, MA, but decided to pursue his own medical equipment business in lieu of a clinical medical career.

In his early years through high school and college, Ron spent his summers as a Waterfront Director at a summer day camp, teaching swimming, lifesaving, first aid, and CPR. After college, Ron spent a year in clinical research in the angiography department of Mass. General Hospital. He then moved on to a sales consultant position in ophthalmic instrumentation with Dynamed Inc, a NJ eyecare distributor, in 1982. By 1987, Ron established his own company, Raskind Associates, which subsequently became Raskind Ophthalmic Group Inc, in 2009, after a few years of unprecedented growth. Ron brings to the customer a wealth of accumulated knowledge in areas ranging from ultrasonography, lasers, digital imaging, refraction, lensometry, corneal topography, and much more. Although sales and marketing are integral to the business, his real passion is teaching and consulting, including financial analysis and after sale support.

To Ron, the business is about much more than selling equipment. It is about providing value to the practice. “If I can help a doctor improve his/her profitability by increasing revenue per patient, bringing in new patients, or otherwise increasing revenues and decreasing costs, then I have done my job well. The most gratifying part of the business is that many customers have become lifelong friends.”

Ron has been married to Diane for twenty years, and has a 16 year old son Allan, and a 14 year old daughter, Erika. He lives in Stoughton, MA, and in his free time enjoys fitness swimming, the gym, reading and current events, movies, music, and time with his family.

Anthony DiRenzo, Associate

Anthony L. DiRenzo was born Lyons, NY February 1964 and grew up in upstate NY. He graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1983 then joined the Navy as an Egress Cryogenics Technician working with Navy Jets. As a Veteran of the United States NAVY, he learned self discipline and the importance of working as a team. In boot camp he was chosen as Educational Petty Officer, then was one of six men meritoriously promoted ahead of schedule, for his efforts with his company. In “A” school, Anthony graduated number one in his class and subsequently received orders to Pensacola, FL.

When Anthony finished his commitment to the Navy in 1988, he followed his desire to learn and pursued a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology A.A.S. Upon graduating with honors, he passed his boards and became nationally certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. His experiences in the United States Navy combined with his successes in college helped prepare him to work closely with doctors in the medical arena. For the last 15 years, Anthony has had the opportunity to work with doctors, first with an immunology company, then moving on to the Optometric field in 2002 with a national laser center. His previous successes meeting and exceeding goal objectives have allowed him the insight and the experience to take on the position of Ophthalmic Consultant with Raskind Ophthalmic Group, Inc.

Anthony has always believed that hard work and a passion to learn have help motivate him to take on challenging positions. “Understanding the individual needs of Eye Doctors is paramount in allowing us to provide the tools they need to make accurate, clinically significant decisions for their patients, all while optimizing their patient flow and revenues.”

Anthony has lived in central CT for over 16 years and loves the Northeast. “In Ct we have proximity to most major cities, the mountains with the oceans, and the change of seasons.” On his free time he enjoys physical fitness, the outdoors, music, movies, science, football and humor.
